Login into Desktop by using the Live-CD

  • Put kodi as username
  • Move cursor into password field
  • Choose Lubuntu netbook session
  • Click Log In

# apt install kodi-visualization-spectrum, kodi-visualization-projectm, kodi-visualization-goom, kodi-visualization-shadertoy, kodi-visualization-waveform

If the visualizations don't work after installation a link to the "right" destination should do the job:

# ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/addons/* /usr/lib/kodi/addons/

Lookup the name and number of your soundcards:

$ cat /proc/asound/cards

Edit your ~/.asoundrc and register the wished soundcard as default:

defaults.ctl.card NUMBER_OR_NAME_OF_DEVICE
defaults.pcm.card NUMBER_OR_NAME_OF_DEVICE
defaults.timer.card NUMBER_OR_NAME_OF_DEVICE

Update Kodibuntu

To update Kodi when a new version is released use the following commands in the terminal:

# apt-get update
# apt-get upgrade

Note: In some cases where additional packages are required, Kodi will fail to upgrade when using the upgrade commands as above. To install additional packages use the command below:

# apt-get dist-upgrade

Install SuperRepo

How do I install SuperRepo?

  1. Navigate to System and open File Manager.
  2. Select Add Source on the left side of the screen.
  3. Click on the text box that says to open up the keyboard.
  4. Type http://srp.nu (from SuperRePo) on the keyboard and then click the Done button
  5. Click the empty text box at the bottom under Enter a name for this media Source.
  6. Type a name for the source (for example: SuperRepo). Once done press the Done button again.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Return to the home screen and go to System >> Addons >> Install from zip
  9. Click at the source you just added
  1. Click the repository’s zip you want to install. For example: Isengard/All/Repositories/[here-goes-the-name].zip
  2. The repository should now be visible when you go to System >> Addons >> Get Add-ons

Add german TV stations to LiveStreamsPro AddOn

Within the LiveStreamsPro AddOn which can be found and installed within SuperRepo do this steps:

  1. Go to LiveStreamsPro preferences
  2. Switch to Add Source tab
  3. Within the line Choose Source Type select Enter URL
  4. Click on Add URL and insert the URL http://dl.gmlblog.de/deutschesender.xml
  5. Confirm the entered URL via click on the line Add Source and leave the preferences via OK

This will download the always actual xml-file each time the LiveStreamsPro AddOn starts. If you want to store this xml-file locally do this:

  1. Go to LiveStreamsPro preferences
  2. Switch to Add Source tab
  3. Within the line Choose Source Type select Choose File
  4. Click on line Choose File and add the downloaded file deutschesender.xml
  1. Confirm the entered file via click on the line Add Source and leave the preferences via OK

Remove source from LiveStreamsPro AddOn

  1. Start LiveStreamsPro
  2. Within the list of streams click on .. above
  3. With right-click on a source a menu appears
  4. Select Remove ...
